Similar to photography, journalism is a way of communication. I love to research new topics, to talk about them with different people and to then write down the corresponding stories in an article. Therefore, journalism is a tool to further educate me, to explore new topics and to initiate discussions.

During high school, I discovered this passion, which later became a side income. I began to attend various courses and events that brought me closer to various areas of journalism, including courses at the Medienwerkstatt of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Youth Media Events of the Young Press. With the knowledge I generated in these courses, I initiated in high school my first own project: The creation and publication of the yearbook.

During my year abroad in China, I then started writing articles for Orange by Handelsblatt and Youthreporter as a correspondent for China, which for the first time allowed me to earn money with journalism. During my voluntary service, I was entrusted with writing the blog of the Goethe Language Centre Xi’an. At the same time, I started to run my blog called MyChineseAdventure. Nowadays, I regularly write articles for the Public Relations office of my university, the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.

WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management

As a student assistant, I have been supporting the Public Relations office of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management since January 2019. In this role, I regularly conduct interviews and write articles about campus events and other student-related topics, which are then published on the website of WHU.

Orange by Handelsblatt

During my year abroad, I wrote as a China-correspondent articles for Orange by Handelsblatt, the online magazine for students and young adults of the Handelsblatt publishing house. Just as the well-known magazine itself, I focused on business, politics and society.

MyChineseAdventure

During my year abroad in China, I operated a blog which has been visited more than 30,000 times to date. With MyChineseAdventure I had the intention to document my time in China as well as to arouse interest for the country and to clear up prejudices.
