Project Description

Himalayan Toy Train

The Toy Train is a narrow-gauge railway that winds its way through the tea villages of the southern Himalayas to the world-famous tea region of Darjeeling on an altitude of over 2000 meters. Even though the railway today is mainly used by tourists, the market stalls and pedestrians still have to give way when the railway travels along the narrow mountain passages. This picture shows one of the newer diesel trains entering Darjeeling hill station.
